Big Techday Speakerinfo

The Event

The BTD

The Big Techday is a one-day conference on science and technology, particularly IT. It is organized by TNG once a year, because it is fun. The program will be similar to the agendas of its predecessors.

Language

The talks are given in German or English. However, we have at least one English talk at any given time.

Time and Form

Date and Venue

Big Techday 26 will take place on Friday, May 22nd, 2026 at the Motorworld in Munich. We expect about 2,000 guests.

Food

During the whole event, free catering is provided, including coffee breaks, lunch buffet, and a dinner.

Participants

Guests

The guests are people with technical/scientific curiosity and a deep interest in information technology. The conference is generally aimed at employees of TNG as well as those of other companies with an IT focus. Additionally, students of relevant fields of study and members of user groups and the Society for Computer Science will also participate. Additionally, we will stream the talks without any restriction. You may make friends and colleagues aware of your talk and the conference. Participation in the Big Techday is free of charge, but prior registration is required.

Speakers

Most of our speakers have an IT background, but some also come from other areas such as physics and mathematics. Among them are scientists as well as practitioners. Some are also adventurers and artists.

Requests to the Speakers

The talk

The speakers can freely choose and handle their topic. The idea is that the speakers will talk about something that they themselves consider important, new, interesting, surprising, or technically cool.

Duration of the talk

The talk will last approx. 45 minutes, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.

Deliverables

In the following, we would like to draw the attention to some information that we ideally would receive as soon as possible, but no later than two weeks before the Big Techday.

We kindly request the following information from all speakers, which we will publish on the website:

  • The title and language of the talk - preferable as soon as possible, also preliminary title

  • A profile picture (at least 624 x 624 px, in color, preferably JPG)

  • An abstract of the talk (approx. 800 characters) – ideally in both German and English

We may make some stylistic changes in the abstract and biography if necessary. We may shorten texts longer than 800 characters. Of course, we will not make any changes to the actual information in the texts.

If contact details are to be published on our website, we kindly ask for the email address, website, LinkedIn account to be used with the explicit permission for use.

Photographs and video recordings

We ask you to let us know if you do not consent to photos being taken during the event and/or the live stream of the talk. Once approved by the speaker, the video may also be published on the internet afterwards.
